When the National Junior Honor Society at Renaissance Cooper City brainstormed their annual service project for the year, they knew they wanted to give back to the community. The chapter decided to partner with the Diaper Bank of Miami to collect diapers for families who are in need – a cause that they felt was different from other donation drives that have been done in the past. Over a two week period, families brought diapers to school and members collected and tallied totals.

In the spirit of competition, the class with the highest number of collected diapers would win a class pizza party. At the end of the two week period, the chapters goal of 5,000 was surpassed, with the highest class total of 1,531 diapers and a school-wide total of 8,137 diapers collected. When the Diaper Bank of Miami and the Chapman Partnership came to collect, they were so grateful and explained how the diapers collected would help the 75 infants and todlers they support.

We are proud and thankful to our Charger family for helping make this service project a success and giving back to our community.
